Web-based Andragogy in Open University : Enhancing the Meaningful Learning Process of Research Skills

The research examines adult students studying on a web-based qualitative research methodology course in the Finnish open university context. The research questions concern adult student experiences of supportiveness of the learning environment, their studying orientations, and their relationship to andragogical assumptions of self-direction and collaboration. The research material consists of 47 learning diaries and was analysed by using abductive content analysis. Research lives of physical education teacher educators

This paper aims to provide insights into the research worlds of an international group of mid- and late-career physical education teacher educators. Specifically, it explores participants’ motives for research engagement and choices, and investigates what challenges and facilitates their research efforts. Two rounds of individual in-depth semi-structured interviews were conducted with 14 physical education teacher educators across 7 countries. Findings point to a distinction between research motives. Este documento analiza la adquisición de competencias en investigación en los estudios de Grado de Trabajo Social de la Universidad de Valencia (España). Los cambios del nuevo orden social exigen una actualización continua tanto de los métodos como de las técnicas que guían la acción de los titulados universitarios. Esta investigación compara las competencias de investigación / intervención entre alumnos de cuarto y último curso de Grado en Trabajo Social con profesionales diplomados en Trabajo Social reciclados para realizar el curso de actualización al Grado.
